Scientific Scandal on a Gargantuan Scale: Unexamined Prehistory

Scientific Scandal on a Gargantuan Scale: Unexamined Prehistory

By Joseph Andrew Settanni

Compared to what is to be discussed here, the, for instance, manmade global warming hoax is clearly dwarfed into just mere insignificance as a rightly paltry thing. Or, is it just another case of “Ripley’s Believe It or Not” carried to extremes? Thus, contrary to conventional cognition, this article can be called a think piece for opening minds. What is the controversy?

Scientists have not ever launched a worldwide project to truly investigate many thoroughly fantastic and amazing claims that relatively enormous numbers of manmade objects have been discovered where they, supposedly, ought never to be discovered at all.

Even assuming, perhaps, that 90% to 95% of these stated worldwide discoveries are possibly fraudulent or simply hoaxes, that leaves enough which merit highly intensive scientific and other investigation -- which does not now exist. What exactly is, nevertheless, the really important (and mysterious) issue here?

Objects have been and are, in fact, still being found, at various places around the world, that absolutely and unequivocally defy all conventional historical and scientific accounts of recorded human history.

How could this be? Deep down in mines, also found inside ancient chunks of coal, located in physically deep sedimentary layers of ancient earth, etc. human-made artifacts are, seemingly, being found that ought not to be found to ever exist. The things being discovered are supposed to be, in short, entirely impossible. That bold statement is, moreover, no exaggeration whatsoever. A genuine mystery exists.

Different Readings of Human Prehistory

It then so appears to be, in effect, completely inexplicable and, also, totally unexplained beyond any rational measure as to both all of conventional science and conventional historical accounts. Are these objects truly for real? Where did they come from? Or, are all the people still finding or those, in the past who have found such things, just perpetrating massively deliberate frauds? Or, perhaps, have all these diverse (and shocking?) objects been merely misinterpreted?

It is, nonetheless, so fairly reasonable and rightly logical that at least 5% to 10% of these objects are not deceptions, frauds, fakes, misinterpreted, misjudged, etc. Not all people, certainly being at different places at different times, are, reasonably speaking, fully capable to so thoroughly perpetrate a major scheme to defraud on such a monumental level of (ongoing) deception. It would require a notably vast conspiracy of such a broad nature and scale previously unthought of in the entire annuals of recorded paranoia, to say the least.

And yet, some people, as to the plains odds involved, had to honestly find what they said they, in fact, had found, meaning, of course, the particular kinds or types of objects that ought not ever to exist where and how they came across these amazing things, these very baffling objects. Can one believe that space creatures or, perhaps, sloppy time travelers had thrown away or lost these articles at various places or times? A tremendous literature exists on both subjects, one may note, as to often diversely stated possibilities. But, such conclusions as to origins do not seem provable.

Inside of, e. g., mineral or carbon formations or, alternately, located at some tremendously deep layers of sedimentary rock hundreds of thousands or, in some cases, (many) millions of years old, according to scientific (evolutionary?) calculations of even many eons of time, there have been found human-created (alien-manufactured?) artifacts or, alternately, objects/things that are obviously, one supposes, not of any natural origins. These matters are, at a minimum, definitely puzzling.

If conventional human, historic, or scientific timelines, basic kinds of chronology, are to be held as fully valid and without much, if any, rational questioning, then it is, of course, absolutely impossible for these things to be discovered at such depths of exploration or within natural things, meaning such as large pieces of coal or minerals. The objects have included clearly manufactured pieces, machined parts, and other kinds of things, archeological relics, that could never occur naturally, as to a creation of pure or normal nature itself.

All across the internet and in books, one can find both descriptions about and photographs and pictures of fantastic and incredible things discovered, in different parts of the world, both centuries ago and in contemporary and very recent times as well. Are they all, indiscriminately, to be dismissed as frauds? Could all of them, without exception, be completely misinterpreted? But, reductionist reasoning, when pushed too far, produces the ludicrous extreme of the reductio ad absurdum.

Speculation on Unrecorded Prehistory … or What?

If asserted kinds or types of fakery or, on the other hand, simple ignorance is involved, then those, however, are the only two possibilities permitted toward upholding the traditional or standard accounts of human prehistory on this entire planet; otherwise, the actually intriguing alternative is positively incredible to an astounding degree, of course.

If rational minds are supposed to automatically eliminate, e. g., time travellers and space aliens for acceptable explanations, then what does that leave? Could there have been, however, advanced civilizations that had existed before the earliest recorded historical knowledge? A fascinating question can be then provoked: Is there, in effect, a mysterious or enigmatic prehistory to prehistory itself?

Merely the comprehension of what might be the astonishing answer to such an interrogative statement could, thus, blast a human mind toward amazing countless degrees and magnitudes of contemplation and rumination, especially on presumably inconceivable matters, regarding then the entire (assumed) knowledge of human history itself. Nothing less would be involved. All the presumed, earliest historical accounts would necessarily, of course, be put into serious question.

Conventional history qua history would, of course, have to be then so completely questioned; presumed timelines and any recorded kind of chronology of times past would, equally, have to be then changed thoroughly and absolutely significantly, at a minimum.

All typical thinking as to the origins of historical time, as a related logical consequence, could not be maintained and sustained, moreover, under such critically changed circumstances, meaning as to the precise considerations that then would occur as a definite result. [But, e. g., the ancient antikythera mechanism (about 2,100 years old) is a shocking device, though the oldest known complex scientific calculator invented, and is indisputably, moreover, a level of (advanced) computational technology about 1,500 years ahead of its time.]

Is thought being given to these matters? Apparently not. Scientists and others (excluding those people who are, of course, connected to the websites, writings, and books on the subject) are not intensively involved in trying to absolutely authenticate these incredible objects and making the important attempt to get at the fullness of truth as to what are really the then possible implications (historical, theological, scientific, etc.) and ramifications (human origins, salvation-religious history, etc.) involved.

These kinds of literally amazing and astounding artifacts just keep on accumulating and, one guesses, are just to be dismissed or ignored as mere anomalies having no bearing upon reality, knowledge, or science, which is yet an extremely horrendous scandal of terrible proportions, of course.

If just a single mechanical or machined part/item, dated by known definite scientific means as being then enclosed by a sedimentary layer, e. g., several or hundreds of millions of years old, is truly found, such a discovery literally rewrites all of history automatically and without question. All it takes is a single non-hoax object to confound the experts about this mystery.

And yet, there are thousands or, perhaps, many thousands upon thousands, of these dumbfounding artifacts scattered throughout this planet. Presumably, no governments (publicly or officially speaking) are really interested, besides the apparent and massive indifference of the world’s scientific community, which helps, furthermore, to so generously define the gigantic proportions of this enormous scientific scandal.

As yet another perspective as to time frames, there is the “young earth” hypothesis of those, usually, though not exclusively, Biblical Fundamentalists who do posit the thought of there being only 6,000 to 10,000 (maximum) years of reality to this particular orb in space. Some others think about 100,000 years or so may be much more accurate as to a time scale; evolutionists, of course, consider and accept billions and billions of years during which there were included epochs lasting for hundreds of millions of years, more or less.

Another point of view seeks to actually explain what has happened in its estimation. It is connected to the obviously cataclysmic “polar shift” argument. Every 40,000 to 80,000 years of time, the earth reverses it polarity the way, as a rough analogy, a magnet can be made to change polarity if acted upon by electricity.

Thus, a massive solar flare, occurring during one of these cataclysmic cycles, is the assumed triggering event that causes the stupendous change in polarity; this is, one assumes, by which the North/South directions are mostly or totally switched. As a result, all civilization(s) on earth get destroyed so much so that only scattered fragments of diverse artifacts can, thus, haphazardly survive the passage of the next cycle of 40 to 80 thousand years, as to the next presumed time interval.

Consequently, all such memory of that previous time gets fully (or nearly so) erased from human memory and human civilization(s) must start all over again the buildup of technology, sciences, etc. until the next worldwide disaster, etc. and so on and so forth.

The writings of Hindu sages are, it is often suggested, where it is said that one can still get a kind of merely suggestive or mythic glimpse of such a fundamentally forgotten time. The “logic” is, therefore, seemingly impeccable because it is tautologous. Proof qua substantiation that such a time is now unknown is, thus, equal proof that such a history once was and vice versa, of course.

There is really no way that this form of argumentation can be refuted, regarding its own pre-premised terms of set discourse, as to the necessarily circular assertion of lost knowledge itself. And yet, if time travel and space aliens (aka little green men) are totally eliminated as being logically acceptable and legitimate asseverations, then what is left?

The projected cataclysmic cycles theory may not be fully satisfactory, but it does offer a (farfetched?) explanation of a sort that avoids what would be thought to be equally outrageous assertions as attempted “rational” explanations.

On the other hand, perhaps, because cataclysms are at least fairly plausible as to possible events of a tremendous magnitude (e. g., Krakatoa exploding in the late 19th century), there may be some sensible justification involved in such a scenario.

And yet, for most human beings, it still can be somewhat rather difficult to believe as to a totally different perception of human origins; this is regarding what may or may not have happened long, long ago. For many people, if there are no written records of some kind or other found, then, by definition, no real history, as such, ever existed.

One may wish to critically consider, however, that increasing numbers of scientists, in fact, no longer simply scoff at or ridicule what is usually denominated as catastrophism. Evolutionism, in contrast, defends its doctrine or dogma of uniformitarianism, meaning that conditions on earth can and have gone on in a fairly steady manner for hundreds of millions of years. Neo-evolutionism is willing to allow for possible periods of excess in the natural world; however, most evolutionists, most of the time, do remain fundamentalists as to their basic support for the uniformitarian dogma.

And yet, the, e. g., gigantic asteroid or meteor that fell millions of years ago near the Yucatan Peninsula has been claimed, by many scientists, as being powerful enough, in its size and impact, to have finally ended the Age of Dinosaurs! This very solar system, inhabited by the planet Earth, is not immune from catastrophism, as witness, only some decades ago, the objects that crashed into Jupiter, which alerted the astrophysicist community to this too-close-to-home astronomical reality. The uniformitarian dogma, as with all of evolutionism, old and neo, ought, therefore, to be scientifically and logically discredited by now.

Many scientists and others took it, the series of crashes into Jupiter, as a wakeup call. And, therefore, one can add that not all the craters on the Earth’s moon may be assumed as only being related to (extremely) ancient natural history. All the bigger “rocks” in this solar system do, of course, fully remain in astronomic jeopardy, besides any planetary instability that might exist, as with, e. g., the earth’s tectonic plates. At a minimum, this quite precious globe is not really a closed ecological system just completely uncontaminated by the surrounding exosphere.

So, to ask the obvious question, can our own orb in space self-generate its own cataclysms? And, if not, why not? Had, moreover, any prehistoric advanced civilizations on this planet’s surface been that fragile? Probably. But, furthermore, how can any virtually wiped out “histories” be ever verified given the asserted cataclysmic realities necessarily involved? How could, in addition, anyone dream of developing, perhaps, a philosophy of prehistoric prehistory for discussing this matter intelligently?

Admittedly, this entire discussion then becomes so inherently problematic to the proverbial nth degree, which relates directly to the matter of what is or is not acceptable proof. There would seem to be a conundrum or dilemma that would appear to be entirely irresolvable, unless absolutely incontrovertible evidence was to be verified conclusively and without any rational question whatsoever.

Nothing else would do, or so it seems. But, rigorous substantiation, as far as can be seen, appears so highly difficult, while the official public silence, seemingly on this subject, equally appears so rather mysterious. Are the authorities, political, historical, religious, and scientific, dreadfully afraid of the conclusions that might be thought about? One would think that an international investigation of some kind and to be done at a high level would, thus, be totally merited, meaning for the then proper sake of finding an answer, which could include reading books by Immanuel Velikovsky.

At a bare minimum, if what has been found possesses the verifiable truth about the “hidden” prehistoric past, then the accumulated, prevailing so-called wisdom, presented in the ever prevalent textbooks and learned tomes of scientists and historians, is all, fundamentally speaking, untrue.

In a certain sense, of course, this can be frightening to behold in that the actual understanding of the true prehistory of the human race has not, in fact, been at all correctly accounted for by those many people, generation after generation, who ought (supposedly) to have known better. There have been consequences, of course.

The purported experts, therefore, should not then be trusted. Those who are apparently ignorant are engaged in supinely teaching the, thus, received ignorance, not real scientific or historical truth, to each rising generation, which further adds to and, unfortunately, bizarrely compounds this ongoing scandal being briefly discussed.

What is even more shocking is that there is no way of fighting against this situation because neither the mainstream scientific nor historical community has any desire to investigate as to the truth or falsity of what has been and, moreover, is still being discovered.

They are the “wise ones” (holders of the orthodox dogmas) of Plato’s Cave who think that the shadows on the walls of the cave do truly represent the whole truth about their perceived sense of reality. The few brave souls, denounced as crackpots (the unorthodox miscreants) or worse, who then dare to courageously dispute the rendered orthodoxy tend to have their careers destroyed, which is an unfortunate penalty. People are thoroughly ridiculed for engaging in “pseudoarcheology” as is noted on internet websites filled with endless denunciations; they are castigated as being pseudoarcheologists.

Nonetheless, in the end, can any answers be really obtained, meaning to this article’s fundamental question, when thinking now about extraterrestrials (from different galaxies, of course), cataclysms (earthly ones or coming from falling celestial objects), and (miscellaneous/miscreant) time travelers? Can anyone really know for certain (even after all implausibilities are effectively eliminated)?

What if the equivalent of an antikythera mechanism/device were to be found, by careful archeologists, at a layer of soil possibly dating it to some hundreds of thousands of years ago? What then? Only anti-scientific philistines, one assumes, would then just cavalierly dismiss it as an anomaly to be fully ignored as something unclassifiable (as to its implications and ramifications).

In any event, these ongoing discoveries, curiously, are not at all isolated to only one part of this world, nor are the many instances limited to just a particular kind of area such as, e. g., coal mines. One readily sees now that this great mystery, as a consequence, necessarily continues until there may be some good resolution of the enormous perplexity, of the monumental puzzlement. [Unless there was, perhaps, the presumed lost continent of Atlantis?]

Conclusion

However, all three proffered, popular theories or hypotheses, extraterrestrials, cataclysms, and time travelers, are all highly problematic justifications (aka explanations) for how these manmade artifacts could exist out of their possible timeframe or, in some certain cases, clearly well beyond the (current) technology of the early 21st century.

The reader of this article is, however, completely free to suggest any other alternative(s) as a valid way to provide the reason(s) why such things could possibly be; the author would be eager to know.

Under the contemporary intellectual, historical, and scientific terms of reference, nonetheless, their present beingness remains completely inexplicable, assuming that some percentage are really what they appear to be and not, in fact, all extremely clever or highly sophisticated hoaxes of some kind. In the absence of a fourth or other alternative(s), can there, thus, realistically be anything more plausible than some fair speculation about lost civilizations?

It may well be, nonetheless, the height of a too prideful arrogance to blithely assume that the present era (unquestionably no less) absolutely represents the very epitome of what it means to be an advanced civilization.

Remember: Presentism and historicism are, after all, intellectual fallacies. In this relatively short article, the debate is, therefore, still open and open minds are welcomed; nothing is here settled for sure, for true science begins with a sense of wonder and philosophy is defined as the love of wisdom.
